Echinarachnius parma (Sand Dollar)When you see a sand dollar on the beach it looks like a round white coin, which is
where it gets its name. Its body is white circular disk,
typically one inch to four inches in diameter. A living sand dollar has a dark color, and is covered with short dark spines that look
almost like fur. Sand dollars do not have a cardiovascular system. Instead, they have a water vascular system made up of canals that provide the sand dollar with food and allows it to move. They have contracting muscles which cause water to continuously move throughout those canals.
