Agelas conifera (Brown Tube Sponge) The Brown Tube Sponge is brown, tan, or greyish brown in color with a lighter interior. It is commonly found in the Caribbean and Bahamas. Like all sponges, they do not move once they establish themselves in a place.
The Brown Tube Sponge does not have a circulatory system. It obtains oxygen, food, and expels waste by maintaining a constant flow of water through its body. It takes in water at its base and expels it out of its top. |
